Comfortable and friendly accommodation is an important ingredient in a well organised cycling holiday.
Another of our strengths is that we gave good knowledge of available B&B and hotel accommodation in our area and of course use what think are the best ones - again depanding what our customers want. Some of the locations e.g. by the coast or riverside are fantastic and sometimes the food is the primary factor or the Scottish welcome with a cup of tea and piece of shortbread. Although most cyclists prefer en suite nowadays some of our more senior landlady's with old fashioned welcome do not have this 'modern' facility! Here is an overall guide to accommodation options and costs:-
Bed and Breakfast Houses (B&B's), Guest houses and Small Hotels are the most common types available in most areas. For more information on each category see below. We normally suggest your first night's accommodation is the night before your tour starts. Our tour prices then assume 1 night's accommodation for each days cycling, - except for the last night which can also be arranged at extra cost. Prices assume two people sharing a twin/double room. Single supplements prices are available on application - (different places on different routes charge different amounts - usually between £5 to £10). Accommodation Types Youth Hostels The B&B's we have listed are mostly those accredited with the voluntary Visitscotland accommodation scheme. Others we use are excellent tried and tested accommodation places of high quality which have chosen not to join the national accommodation schemes. These places are popular and have a large amount of business from repeat customers. We basically use our local knowledge and contacts to ensure the best accommodation for our cyclists according to availability. Guest Houses Hotels Luxury Hotels Self-Catering Accommodation |
